Aner — a boy. (1.) A Canaanitish chief who joined his forces with those of Abraham in pursuit of Chedorlaomer (Gen. 14:13,24). (2.) A city of Manasseh given to the Levites of Kohath's family (1 Chr. 6:70). Boanerges — sons of thunder, a surname given by our Lord to James and John (Mark 3:17) on account of their fervid and impetuous temper (Luke 9:54).
